Baseball Recap: Baylor Falls Short Against Ranked Christian Brothers

Baylor faced Christian Brothers in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Red Raiders took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Purple Wave. Unfortunately, that's the first time they've come up short against the Purple Wave this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-0 loss on Wednesday.

Henry Allen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Baylor saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Schuman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Baylor's defeat dropped their record down to 22-7. As for Christian Brothers, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 25-11.
