Basketball Recap: Latta Beats Silo for Their Third Straight Victory

Latta won against Bethel last Monday with 40 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Latta Panthers walked away with a 40-30 win over the Silo Rebels. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Rebels are ranked 127th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory was the third in a row for Latta, bringing their record for this year to 15-4. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points per game. As for Silo, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Latta is taking a road trip to take on Davis at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Davis knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Latta likes a good challenge. As for Silo, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dickson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
