Baseball Recap: Maryvale Panthers vs. Westview Knights

Maryvale took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 13-6 margin over the Westview Knights. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

Sebastian Gonzalez made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Gonzalez was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, Axel Aguilar was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Nathan Benavides, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
