Volleyball Recap: Laurel Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Brooklynn Eklund and Bailey Bequette + How To Watch

Laurel lost against Fergus back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Locomotives fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 3-2. The Locomotives have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Laurel actually scored more points across those five sets (103-101), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-21, 14-25, 25-21, 15-11.

Despite the defeat, Laurel had strong showings from Bailey Bequette, who had 12 digs and three aces, and Brooklynn Eklund, who had 15 digs, three blocks, and three aces. Bequette has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Laurel's loss dropped their record down to 4-6-1. As for Fergus, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Laurel wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Park on the 17th. As for Fergus, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Sidney on the 18th.
