Softball Game Preview: Arroyo Knights vs. El Rancho Dons

The Arroyo Knights will take on the El Rancho Dons at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Arroyo will be strutting in after a win while El Rancho will be coming in after a loss.

Arroyo took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Baldwin Park as Arroyo made off with an 18-3 victory. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by eight runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, El Rancho unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 7-3 to California.

Lesly Valdez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Arroyo has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4-1 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.3 runs. El Rancho's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4-1.

Arroyo took their win against El Rancho when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 13-6. Will Arroyo repeat their success, or does El Rancho have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
