Basketball Recap: Orr Takes a Loss

Orr easily dispatched Austin College and Career Academy last Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Orr Spartans fell just short of the Kennedy Crusaders by a score of 54-51 on Friday.

Kennedy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joseph Dahl, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. With that strong performance, Dahl is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. Another player making a difference was Kylen Henderson, who posted nine points along with six assists and six rebounds.

Orr has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Kennedy, their win bumped their record up to 6-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orr will challenge Clemente at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Orr is facing Clemente at the right time seeing as Clemente is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Kennedy, they will face off against Richards at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kennedy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season.
