Softball Recap: Belmont Sentinels vs. Roybal Titans
Belmont had lost five straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 2-9 to make it six. They came up short against the Roybal Titans, falling 19-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 27-0 back in March.
As for Roybal, their record is now 8-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.
For Roybal's part, Glenda Toc made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Toc was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Natally Sostenes, who fired off three home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jasmin Calzada, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
