Basketball Recap: Fort Myers Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Fort Myers waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Naples Golden Eagles 69-66. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Green Wave also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Fort Myers' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacory Clark led the charge by putting up six points in addition to six assists and five rebounds. Clark also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Fort Myers is 5-1 when he posts at least five steals, but 5-6 otherwise. James Michel was another key player, going 8 for 13 en route to 18 points and three steals.

Fort Myers pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Naples, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.
