Basketball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Ramona

Ramona had won five straight games and Troy Terrell did his part to make it six on Friday. The Ramona Rams greeted the New Year with with a 71-55 victory over the Vista del Lago Ravens thanks in part to Terrell, who almost dropped a double-double on 34 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 16.1 points per game.

Another player making a difference was Andrew Green, who posted 16 points and eight rebounds. He has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last nine times he's played.

Despite the loss, Vista del Lago saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ja'Marion Jackson dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 boards gave Jackson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Malik Morris, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 10 points.

Ramona's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.5 points per game. As for Vista del Lago, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Ramona didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 76-47 victory against La Sierra on the 7th. As for Vista del Lago, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-54 defeat against Lakeside on the 7th.
