Legacy Charter takes loss despite strong efforts from Mallory Daniels and Ashlyn Kraus

Recap: Legacy Charter Eagles vs. Mount Dora Hurricanes
The Legacy Charter Eagles were the 42-30 winner over the Mount Dora Hurricanes when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Legacy Charter was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 42-41 to Mount Dora. Legacy Charter has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Legacy Charter's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ashlyn Kraus, who scored 18 points along with four steals, and Mallory Daniels who scored 12 points along with eight assists and eight steals. Daniels scored a full 29.3% of Legacy Charter's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Legacy Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Mount Dora, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Legacy Charter will challenge Trinity Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Haylee Morelli and Daniels. As for Mount Dora, they will head out on the road to face off against Leesburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
