Football Recap: Coral Springs Comes Up Short

Coral Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 33-0 loss at the hands of the South Plantation Paladins. While losing is never fun, the Colts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while the Paladins are ranked 85th).

McKenzie Livermore continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for South Plantation, rushing for 107 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while also throwing for 143 yards and two touchdowns. What's more, Livermore racked up 101.9 passer rating, the most she's had over her last nine matches. Another player making a difference was Amaris Bazemore, who picked up 40 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Coral Springs' loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for South Plantation, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Coral Springs will welcome Coral Springs Charter at 4:30 p.m. on March 19th. As for South Plantation, they will head out to challenge Everglades at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (South Plantation 12.8, Everglades 9) so any points scored will be well earned.
