Basketball Preview: Family Christian Center Lions vs. Beacon of Hope Christian Eagles
After both having extra time off, the Family Christian Center Lions and the Beacon of Hope Christian Eagles will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th.
Family Christian Center's recent rough patch got a bit rougher back in December of 2023 after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a rough 80-49 loss at the hands of Circle Christian. Family Christian Center was down 67-37 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Meanwhile, the matchup between Beacon of Hope Christian and the Saints last Friday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. Beacon of Hope Christian strolled past the Saints with points to spare, taking the game 62-48. The victory was just what Beacon of Hope Christian needed coming off of a 89-49 defeat in their prior match.
Marquis Sams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points. Another player making a difference was Trisdan Fuller, who scored 24 points.
Family Christian Center dropped their record down to 0-2 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Beacon of Hope Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9.
