Basketball Game Preview: Peoria Notre Dame Irish vs. Pontiac Indians

The Peoria Notre Dame Irish will take on the Pontiac Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Peoria Notre Dame has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Pontiac will arrive with six straight victories.

Peoria Notre Dame lost 61-40 to Unity Christian Academy on Saturday.

While Pontiac didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 58-50 win over Limestone on Tuesday.

Pontiac's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Peoria Notre Dame, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Peoria Notre Dame came up short against Pontiac in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 54-45. Can the Irish avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
