Football Recap: Bakersfield Starts Season with Win at Home + How To Watch

Bakersfield gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took down the Buchanan Bears 28-13. For the Drillers, this counts as revenge for the 56-3 win the Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2022.

Bakersfield found their leader in sophomore Damir Lomax, who rushed for 181 yards and one touchdown while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. Bj Veasey was in the mix too, providing the Drillers with two scores.

Bakersfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 339 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August of 2024.
