Softball Recap: Clover Hill Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Clover Hill barely beat James River Midlothian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cavaliers blew past the Rapids 17-1 on Friday. Considering the Cavaliers have won nine matches by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Cayla Wright, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Daniella Medrano also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Clover Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as James River Midlothian only posted an OBP of .300.

Clover Hill is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for James River Midlothian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.

Clover Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for James River Midlothian, they will be playing at home against Midlothian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their 19th straight win, something the Rapids surely won't give up without a fight.
