Baseball Game Preview: ConVal Cougars vs. Souhegan Sabers

ConVal is 1-9 against Souhegan since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Cougars will host the Sabers at 4:00 p.m. The last three games ConVal has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

ConVal took an 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Bow, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cougars narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Falcons 6-5. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by just one run.

Meanwhile, Souhegan didn't have quite enough to beat Hollis-Brookline on Monday and fell 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Sabers have suffered against the Cavaliers since April 15, 2022.

ConVal is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Souhegan, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
