Soccer Recap: Atlantic Takes a Loss

Atlantic and Cocoa Beach squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Atlantic had to settle for second. They lost 8-0 to the Cocoa Beach Minutemen. While losing is never fun, the Sharks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 562nd, while the Minutemen are ranked 124th).

Atlantic dropped their record down to 1-13 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Cocoa Beach, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4-1 record this season.

Atlantic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cocoa Beach, they will take on Astronaut at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cocoa Beach is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 5.1 goals per game this season.
