Volleyball Recap: Grossmont Takes a Loss

Grossmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 23rd straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Clairemont Chieftains, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-18, 25-13.

Clairemont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Makoa Miner led the charge by getting 11 kills, three aces, and two blocks. Miner is crushing it when it comes to kills: he's had at least five every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Gabe Tocco, who had eight kills and five blocks.

Grossmont's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Clairemont, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

Grossmont wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Santana on the 22nd. As for Clairemont, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against St. Augustine on the 23rd.
