Soccer Game Preview: Providence Christian vs. Houston Academy

The Providence Christian Eagles will square off against the Houston Academy Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Providence Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Cottage Hill Christian Academy get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but Providence Christian sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Houston Academy made sure to put some goals up on the board against Mobile Christian on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Leopards. Nate Selig was a massive factor in the win as he booted in five goals all by himself.

Houston Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 116 goals over those 18 contests. As for Providence Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3-4.
