Fort Wayne Bishop Luers dropped their record down to 6-8 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of Southwood by a score of 7-5. If Fort Wayne Bishop Luers was looking for revenge after losing 7-1 to Southwood when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Addison Haney made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

As for Southwood, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-3. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.25 runs across that stretch.

On Southwood's side, Natalie Sutphin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. Sutphin has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Rowan Goodpasture was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Gracie Lambert was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Fort Wayne Bishop Luers has already played their next game, a 9-8 defeat against Fort Wayne Snider on the 3rd. As for Southwood, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-4 win against DeKalb on the 3rd.
