Softball Recap: East Hampton's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

East Hampton had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Windham Whippets 12-1 on Saturday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Bellringers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Allison Jacobsen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Jacobsen was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Emily Jovel was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Shea Gaughran, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

East Hampton's record now sits at 5-10. As for Windham, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

East Hampton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-4 loss against North Branford on the 19th. Windham has also already played their next game (against Plainfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
