Volleyball Recap: Allie Bauer Key Part of Team Effort in Vikings Win

Union Pines won the last time they faced Triton and things went their way on Thursday too. The Vikings blew past the Hawks 3-0. The game was the first time the Vikings have beaten the Hawks on their court since September 26, 2019.

While Union Pines won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-15, 25-15.

Union Pines' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Allie Bauer, who had 22 assists and four digs. Bauer is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 20 games she's played dating back to last season. Kirra Daberkow also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Union Pines and bumps their season record up to 17-2. As for Triton, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.

Union Pines didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Lee County on the 7th. As for Triton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against South Johnston on the 7th.
