Basketball Recap: Jubilee Brownsville Comes Up Short

Jubilee Brownsville lost against Port Isabel back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Jubilee Brownsville Titans took a 71-53 bruising from the Port Isabel Tarpons. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Jubilee Brownsville saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nick Zarate dropped a double-double on 24 points and 16 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Hernandez, who posted seven points.

Jubilee Brownsville's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Port Isabel, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 15-12 record this season.

Jubilee Brownsville is taking a road trip to face off against Grulla at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Jubilee Brownsville is facing Grulla at the right time seeing as Grulla is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Port Isabel, they will face off against La Feria at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. La Feria will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Port Isabel surely won't give up without a fight.
