Volleyball Recap: Prairie View Takes a Loss

Prairie View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Wellsville Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-0 defeat back in September.

Prairie View may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 18 points in every single set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-18.

Wellsville was led to victory by Kailynn Rice and Jaycie Gonzalis. Rice had nine digs and two assists, while Gonzalis had five digs and one assist. That's the most assists Rice has posted over her last nine contests. Olive Dubois also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Prairie View's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Wellsville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-10 record this season.

Prairie View has already played their next match (against Burlington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Wellsville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Osawatomie on the 7th.
