Baseball Recap: Clements Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game, Clements was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Lauderdale County Tigers. This was a revenge game for the Colts: when they faced off against the Tigers last Thursday, they had to take a 15-0 loss.

Jason Harwell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cannon Lovell, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

The victory got Clements back to even at 11-11. As for Lauderdale County, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-13.

Coming up, Clements will welcome Covenant Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lauderdale County, they are taking a road trip to square off against Decatur Heritage Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
