Basketball Recap: Vanguard's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

North Marion typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Vanguard proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 61-56 win over the North Marion Colts. The victory was nothing new for the Knights as they're now sitting on three straight.

Despite the loss, North Marion still got an impressive performance from Jerdarrius Jackson, who posted 18 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. Another player making a difference was Toure James, who scored 13 points.

Vanguard now has a winning record of 9-8. As for North Marion, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.

Vanguard will challenge Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vanguard knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Forest likes a good challenge. As for North Marion, they will square off against Olympic Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. North Marion is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.1 points per game this season.
