Football Recap: Sheldon Skates Past Rosemont with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sheldon). They blew past the Rosemont Wolverines 52-0 on Thursday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Huskies considering their 12-point performance the contest before.

A big part of Sheldon's victory came down to the chemistry between Saniah Wiley and her top target Shamira Beard. Wiley threw for 186 yards and four touchdowns while Beard picked up 74 receiving yards and three scores.

Sheldon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Athena Rivas and Wiley.

Sheldon's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.4 points on average this season. As for Rosemont, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sheldon will challenge Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rosemont, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Galt at 6:30 p.m. on the 18th.
