Basketball Recap: Marion Scarlet Hurricanes vs. Unicoi County Blue Devils
Marion suffered their biggest defeat since February 16th on Friday. They lost 72-48 to the Unicoi County Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, the Scarlet Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 269th in Virginia, while the Blue Devils are ranked 92nd in Tennessee).
Unicoi County was led to victory by Jackson Simmons and Kaden Cutlip. Simmons went 8 of 15 on his way to 21 points and five assists, while Cutlip almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine assists. Simmons' afternoon made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Simmons, who posted eight points and six rebounds.
