Baseball Game Preview: Kaplan Pirates vs. Iota Bulldogs

Kaplan hasn't had much luck against Iota recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Kaplan Pirates will challenge the Iota Bulldogs at 1:15 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Saturday.

Iota will be up against a hot Kaplan team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Kaplan's pitchers stepped up to hand Port Barre a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The Pirates' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three games.

Meanwhile, Iota can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They blew past Carencro 10-0. Considering the Bulldogs have won three matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kaplan's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Iota, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Kaplan might still be hurting after the 9-1 loss they got from Iota in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Kaplan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
