Baseball Recap: Seaford Comes Up Short

Seaford fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Sussex Academy on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Seahawks by a score of 3-2. The loss continues a trend for the Bluejays in their meetings with the Seahawks: they've now lost three in a row.

Seaford's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Sussex Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Seaford will venture away from home to face off against St. Andrew's at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cardinals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.86 runs per game on average), something the Bluejays will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Sussex Academy, they will challenge Caravel Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Buccaneers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Seahawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
