Basketball Recap: White River Valley Comes Up Short

White River Valley lost against Barr-Reeve back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The White River Valley Wolverines took a blow against the Barr-Reeve Vikings, falling 70-34. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 310th, while the Vikings are ranked 119th).

Barr-Reeve had a senior duo take command as Seth Wagler went 7 of 15 en route to 16 points and seven boards and Landon Miller went 7 for 9 on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds. Kierson Lengacher was another key player, putting up six points.

White River Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Barr-Reeve, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.

White River Valley will host Clay City at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Barr-Reeve, they will challenge Shoals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Barr-Reeve is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season.
