Baseball Game Preview: Elysian Fields Yellowjackets vs. Queen City Bulldogs

The Elysian Fields Yellowjackets will take on the Queen City Bulldogs in a tournament on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

After dropping their season opener at home, Queen City is headed out to face a Yellowjackets squad ready to give their home crowd a win. Elysian Fields took an 18-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of Troup on Monday. The Yellowjackets have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Brandon Kennedy was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, he also posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. John Beavers was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Queen City fell victim to Hughes Springs and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 8-0.
