Volleyball Recap: Alice Starts Season with Victory Against Woodsboro

Alice took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Woodsboro Eagles as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Coyotes in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

While Alice won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-22, 25-14.

Alice had a senior duo take command as Bailynn Villarreal had 23 digs and Nayeli Rodriguez had 23 assists and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Krista Garza, who had ten digs and one assist.

Woodsboro's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Alice will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ray at 6:00 p.m. As for Woodsboro, they will venture away from home to challenge Incarnate Word Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
