Softball Game Preview: Campo Verde Coyotes vs. Mountain Pointe Pride

The Campo Verde Coyotes are taking a road trip to face off against the Mountain Pointe Pride at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Campo Verde's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three contests, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Campo Verde fell victim to Highland and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 14-0 to the Hawks, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Coyotes have suffered against the Hawks since March 3, 2020.

Meanwhile, Mountain Pointe came up short against Desert Mountain on Thursday, falling 13-1. That's two games in a row now that the Pride have lost by exactly 12 runs.

Mountain Pointe saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samantha Graves, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Campo Verde's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Mountain Pointe, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-8-1.

Campo Verde beat Mountain Pointe 7-4 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Campo Verde since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
