Soccer Game Preview: Venice vs. Sarasota

The Venice Indians will venture away from home to square off against the Sarasota Sailors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Venice's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They won by a goal and slipped past Aubrey Rogers 1-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Venice.

Meanwhile, Sarasota unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak last Thursday. They and Riverview Sarasota finished up their contest with a 1-1 draw. The result kept Sarasota happy, as they haven't lost a game since November 5th.

Venice's win bumped their record up to 9-1. Sarasota's draw makes their record 4-1-1 this season.

Everything went Venice's way against Sarasota in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as Venice made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
