Basketball Recap: Legacy Charter Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Mount Dora Christian Academy came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Legacy Charter, but Khaliel Caldwell wouldn't allow it. The Legacy Charter Eagles took down the Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs 74-59 on Tuesday thanks in part to Caldwell, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 21 points. Those 21 points gave him a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Khori Polarchy, who posted 13 points and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

Despite the loss, Mount Dora Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Tyler Mcclinton-Hutto, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 15 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Luke Deininger, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists.

Legacy Charter has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, they moved to 9-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Legacy Charter and Mount Dora Christian Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Legacy Charter (ranked 217th) will meet Cornerstone Charter Academy (ranked 541st) at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Legacy Charter is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.4 points per game this season. Similarly, Mount Dora Christian Academy (ranked 297th) will meet Circle Christian (ranked 714th) at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
