Basketball Recap: Sunnyside Comes Up Short

Sunnyside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Davis Pirates 80-26. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Pirates are ranked seventh).

Despite the loss, Sunnyside saw an underclassman step up: freshman Aryanna Sotelo went 6-for-14 on her way to 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Sunnyside's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Davis, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.

Sunnyside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-37 victory against Moses Lake on the 13th. As for Davis, they have also already played their next game, an 82-22 win against Wenatchee on the 13th.
