Softball Preview: Rome Wolves vs. Model Blue Devils
The Rome Wolves will venture away from home to take on the Model Blue Devils at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Rome took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 15-3 margin over Coosa. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wolves as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Madyson Thacker was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Helton, who scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, everything went Model's way against Gordon Central on Wednesday as Model made off with a 20-7 victory.
