Softball Recap: Westside Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Westside can now relate to. They lost 14-3 to the Fountain Inn Fury on Monday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Rams, who until this contest were averaging 3.81 runs allowed.

Starlyn Clardy was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Westside's loss dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Fountain Inn, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 21-7.

Westside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fountain Inn, they will welcome A.C. Flora at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Fury's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
