Recap: Curlew Cougars vs. Valley Christian Panthers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tonasket, the Curlew Cougars were happy to have found some success on Friday. They strolled past Valley Christian with points to spare, taking the game 45-29. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Curlew also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2019.
Curlew can attribute much of their success to Emma Lena Baker, who scored 23 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Baker has scored at least 25% of Curlew's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Theia Grady, who scored 10 points.
The victory got Curlew back to even at 1-1. As for Valley Christian, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
Curlew will head out on the road to face off against Oroville at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Valley Christian, they will be playing at home against Asotin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
