Softball Recap: Northwestern Comes Up Short

Northwestern lost against Fort Mill back in March of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Northwestern fell just short of Fort Mill by a score of 8-7. The Trojans' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Charlie Pendergraph was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

Northwestern's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Fort Mill, their record is now 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwestern will host Rock Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rock Hill has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.83 runs per game on average), something Northwestern will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Fort Mill, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Lancaster at 7:00 p.m.
