Basketball Recap: North Tampa Christian Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Boyd Christian last Saturday, North Tampa Christian Academy came back down to earth. The North Tampa Christian Academy Titans took a 50-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Calvary Christian Academy Lions.

Calvary Christian Academy was led to victory by Hailey Lenz and Samantha Lecas. Lenz almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds, while Lecas dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals. Those nine boards gave Lenz a new career-high. Keeva Heggins was another key player, putting up 12 points and four steals.

North Tampa Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Calvary Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Tampa Christian Academy will take on Seven Rivers Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they will square off against Trinity Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. The timing is sure in Calvary Christian Academy's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Trinity Christian Academy has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
