Baseball Game Preview: New Castle Hurricanes vs. Mars Fightin' Planets

For the second straight game, New Castle will face off against Mars. New Castle will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Mars at 4:00 p.m. New Castle comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

New Castle fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Mars on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Fightin' Planets by a score of 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Hurricanes have lost by just one run.

Dominic Miller was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Phil Laurenza also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Miller wasn't the only one working in the hit department: New Castle kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

New Castle's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Mars, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-2.
