After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Telluride, Salida was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Mancos Bluejays. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Bluejays walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

While Salida won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-16, 25-23.

Salida's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cooper Fisher, who had 20 digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Fisher a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hazel Brown, who had 12 digs and six kills.

Salida now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Mancos, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Salida will host Buena Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mancos, they will venture away from home to challenge Dove Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
