Ball's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 27-26 photo finish over the Texas City Stingarees. That's more bragging rights for the Tornadoes, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ball to victory, but perhaps none more so than Corieon Sanders, who threw for 174 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 34 yards.

The victory got Ball back to even at 1-1. As for Texas City, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Looking ahead, Ball will look to defend their home field on Friday against Friendswood at 7:00 p.m. As for Texas City, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Terry at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. This will be the Stingarees' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
