Soccer Game Preview: L.C. Bird vs. Richmond High School for the Arts

The L.C. Bird Skyhawks will take on the Richmond High School for the Arts Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. L.C. Bird's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

L.C. Bird fell victim to Monacan and their airtight defense last Thursday. They came up short against the Chiefs, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, L.C. Bird can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 285th, while Monacan are ranked 91st).

Meanwhile, Richmond High School for the Arts hadn't done well against Huguenot recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Bulldogs' defense stepped up to hand the Falcons a 1-0 shutout.

L.C. Bird's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Richmond High School for the Arts, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

L.C. Bird came out on top in a nail-biter against Richmond High School for the Arts when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Skyhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
