Rocky River entered their tilt with North Olmsted on Saturday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They took down the North Olmsted Eagles 48-29. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Eagles are ranked 531st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rocky River's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nora Bruder, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Olivia Dewey was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 11 points and five steals.

Rocky River was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Olmsted only racked up six assists.

Despite the loss, North Olmsted still got an impressive performance from Katie Strong, who posted six points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks. Strong is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Amaya Capps, who put up seven points along with five boards and four steals.

Rocky River pushed their record up to 17-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points over those games. As for North Olmsted, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.

Looking ahead, Rocky River will host Lutheran West at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for North Olmsted, they will challenge Lakewood at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
