Baseball Game Preview: Crespi Celts vs. Mira Costa Mustangs

Crespi has won six straight games at home, while Mira Costa has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Celts will host the Mustangs at 2:15 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Crespi 1.7, Mira Costa 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Crespi is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over El Dorado.

Meanwhile, Mira Costa faced Arcadia in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Mustangs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Apaches, sneaking past 5-4.

Mira Costa's victory bumped their record up to 28-2. As for Crespi, their win bumped their record up to 23-2.

Crespi was able to grind out a solid victory over Mira Costa in their previous meeting back in March of 2015, winning 6-1. Will the Celts repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
