After losing to Crean Lutheran the last time they met, Laguna Beach decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Laguna Beach walked away with a 5-1 win over Crean Lutheran on Monday.

Lucien Reed was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single hit in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

In other pitching news, Jake Martinez tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Dylan Yencho, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Dane Jenal also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Laguna Beach's victory bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Crean Lutheran, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-4.
