Basketball Recap: Assumption's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Monday

Assumption won the last time they faced Davenport Central and things went their way on Monday too. The Assumption Knights enjoyed a cozy 48-32 win over the Davenport Central Blue Devils. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Blue Devils are ranked 280th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory got Assumption back to even at 9-9. As for Davenport Central, they dropped their record down to 1-16 with the loss, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Assumption has already played their next match (against North Scott), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Davenport Central will square off against Central Clinton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
